These terms govern bookings with Verdara Journeys Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 11893427, of 14 Fenwick Lane, Bristol BS1 5QT. They are the terms we would want to read as travelers ourselves: short where possible, specific where it matters.
A booking is confirmed when we receive your deposit of £400 per person and issue a written confirmation. Your deposit is fully refundable for 14 days after confirmation while you arrange flights and logistics. The balance is due 90 days before departure; for bookings made inside 90 days, the full amount is due at confirmation.
All payments are protected: money you pay us is held in trust until your journey is complete, in line with UK package travel regulations.
More than 90 days before departure: you lose only the deposit — or, once per booking, you may move it to any departure within the following two years at no cost. Between 90 and 60 days: 50% of the journey price. Between 59 and 30 days: 75%. Within 30 days: 100%. These steps reflect the point at which our commitments to small, family-run hosts become fixed; we will always refund anything we can recover.
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation from the day you book.
Our journeys run with a minimum of four travelers. In the rare case a departure does not reach its minimum, we will tell you at least 60 days before departure and offer a full refund, an alternative departure, or a private departure at an adjusted price — your choice.
Itineraries describe a rhythm, not a timetable. Weather, harvests, and safety may rearrange days, and our guides’ judgment on safety is final. If a significant part of a journey must change before departure, we will tell you promptly and offer alternatives or a refund of the affected portion.
You are responsible for arriving with valid travel documents, appropriate insurance (comprehensive cover including medical and repatriation is a condition of travel), and honest information about fitness and health — our pace notes only work when they can be matched to real knees. You are also responsible for behaving with reasonable respect toward hosts, fellow travelers, and the places we visit; we reserve the right to end, without refund, the participation of anyone who makes a journey unsafe or miserable for others. We have used this clause once in six years and would prefer never to use it again.
We select and monitor every host and supplier personally, and we are responsible for the proper performance of your package under UK package travel regulations. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to three times the journey price except in cases of death, injury, or illness caused by negligence. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
Prices are per person in pounds sterling and confirmed at booking; they will not change after confirmation except for government-imposed taxes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes belong to its courts — though in six years, every disagreement has been resolved over email or a phone call, which is how we intend to keep it.
